    Getting Started

    Getting Started

Thank you for your interest in CrossFit Bay Area. We offer group workouts and personal training six days a week. We offer a complimentary class on Saturday’s at 10:00am, or we can arrange for you to attend one of our weekly classes to try out the gym along with a consultation with a coach to discuss the programs that we have available. We want you to experience the quality of Coaching at CFBA before making your decision to join.

Crossfit Bay Area was the first to offer CrossFit training in the Clear Lake Area. We have Kettlebells, Dumbbells, Barbells, Bumper Plates, Jump (Plyo) Boxes, Dynamax Medicine Balls, Slam Balls, Gymnastics Rings and 30′ of pull-up bars to effectively train up to 12 athletes at a time, and we do so every day.

The CrossFit program is completely different from the experience you will get at any big box gym. The workouts are done in a small group session, with anywhere from 4 to 12 -people. You will learn the Olympic lifts, Kettlebells, Power lifting, basic gymnastics moves and many different kinds of bodyweight exercises.

There are several ways to get started with CrossFit Bay Area, so we offer a consultation with one of the trainers to discuss the best way to get you started. During the consult, we will discuss your goals, current exercise regime, any limiting factors you may have and your options at CrossFit Bay Area. During this time, you may also try out one of our classes.

    CrossFit Skills (On Ramp) Program

The most popular entry point into our program is with our CrossFit On Ramp Program, which is scheduled at 7:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for four weeks. During these 12 sessions, you will learn the skills necessary to integrate smoothly and safely into our regular Group Workouts. Each session will include specific skill training and practice, as well as a CrossFit WOD (workout of the day).

After your first 12 CrossFit Skill Sessions (On Ramp), you will be able to attend any of our regularly scheduled Group Workouts. We currently offer 21 different workout times per week.

    Personal Training

Some people prefer to learn in a one-on-one environment. The personal Training sessions can be used as an On-Ramp to speed up your transition and fit your schedule into Group Training, in combination with the group training to zero in on your goals or as a stand alone with one of our great coaches working specifically toward your goals with the workouts tailored to fit you.

    Test Out

For those people that have been doing CrossFit for a while, either at another Affiliate or on their own, we offer a test-out option. You can contact us and we will schedule a time for you to come in and demonstrate your competence with one of our Coaches. We will ask you to demonstrate many different exercises. If, sitting at your computer right now, you know and could demonstrate the difference between a power clean, hang power clean, clean, and a hang clean, you will probably be fine. If the last sentence was written in a language other than English for you, you should come in for the CrossFit Skills Sessions.

If you have any questions, please contact us. We look forward to working with you.
